Husqvarna Snow Blower Review- What’s New- Which One is the Best for You?

When the winter is coming, you will need to be prepared to clear your driveway and paths every morning, and that can be a hard work if you do it manually. Fortunately, the snow blowers exist to make your life easier, but you will have to buy one.

You have probably seen these machines being used by authorities or neighbors, and now we will talk you about the Husqvarna Snow blowers, their main features and benefits.

Single Stage Husqvarna Snow Throwers:

Huqvarna offers three single stage gas snow throwers this year. Remember that this kind of snow blowers only work on hard surfaces like a black top driveway or cement sidewalk, and work well if you have people who walk on the snow before clearing it because the front rubber auger touches the ground. The bad part is that this models can only handle 6 inches of snow at a time, so if you need to clear more snow, you will have to look for another model. They can’t work well on a frozen pile of snow, so in this case we recommend you to use a shovel to break up the snow.

The single stage snow throwers by Husqvarna are good machines but aren’t the first choice because they use a scraper under the snow blower to clean all the snow off the driveway that is 2 inches behind the paddles and always leaves a small pile of snow 2 inches wide and ½ inch tall, so if you want a perfectly clean driveway, you will have to go back with a shovel and clean up those piles.

This model is a low powered and cheap snow thrower that I recommend for people who get less than 6 inch of snow every year, so if you need more clearing power, I don’t recommend you to buy it.

The remote chute is very easy to use and lets you change the throwing direction without stopping the machine. The six LED lights are great for night work.

2-Stage 200 Series Husqvarna Residential Snow Blowers

Husqvarna makes two styles of 2-stage snow blowers, the 200- series and 300-series. The 200 series is great for good most areas of the United States that get 80 inches of snow or less per year, so they’re good for Chicago, Denver, St Louis, Long Island and Pittsburgh, but aren’t good for areas where heavy and wet snow is common, like Hammond, IN and Buffalo, NY.

This series features adjustable height handles and dual LED lights.

The adjustable handle is a cool feature for homeowners who have a tall person and short person using the same snow blower. The six LED lights are also cool because they make the light shine all around the snow blower.

Moreover, this series features hand warmers but they don’t work very well, but this series have the other features you like, the remote chute, remote deflector, deep lug tires.

Husqvarna ST224 Snow Blower Review

This is the top rated 2-stage snow blower on amazon, however, this model doesn’t have power steering so it can be hard to turn if you aren’t strong enough. The wheels are locked on the axle so they both turn at the same time, and if you want to turn, you have to skid the tires, so it’s best suited for young people to use it.

  • Cylinder displacement 208 cm³
  • Transmission type Friction Disc
  • Blower type Two-stage
  • Two-stage system
  • Handle height adjustment

Husqvarna ST224P Snow Blower Review

This is the best value 2-stage snow blower listed on amazon. It’s a great machine for typical 2 car suburban driveways since it has all the features of machines costing $500-900 more. It throws the snow very well, it’s easy to use and has great traction with little maintenance, and is perfect for areas with 50 inches of snow per year.

  • Working width 24 in
  • Cylinder displacement 208 cm³
  • Blower type Two-stage
  • LED headlight/s

  • Blower type Two-stage
  • Two-stage system

Husqvarna ST230P Snow Blower Review

Most of the users of this model like it a lot, but I think that there are better 30- inch machines. I like the Troy-Bilt 3090 XP, Craftsman 30 inch and Ariens Deluxe 30. You shouldn’t buy this model if you live in an area with more than 60 inches of snow per year, or where blizzards are 20-30 inches.

  • Working width 30 in
  • Cylinder displacement 291 cm³
  • Transmission type Friction Disc

300-Series 2-Stage Husqvarna Land Owner Snow Blowers

The Husqvarna 300-series offer features and durability, and are best suited for frequent use in all snow conditions. They are robust and comfortable to use, and I particularly like the controls because they’re large for gloved hands. The handles are angled down so shorter people can use the machine comfortably. The chute/deflector controls have positive notches so it stays in place. The LED headlights are great for night work, and the hydrostatic transmission gives you a very smooth and even motion.

The tracked version uses a heavier transmission to increase the torque needed, and the power steering of this series works really good. So if you want a snow blower with hydrostatic transmission, these machines will save you $1000 over the red competitor.

They are in the same class of Ariens Platinum, Cub Cadet 3x HD or Toro PowerMax HD, and has its specific features that can make it the best choice for some owners.

Husqvarna ST 324P Snow Blower Review

If you regularly get 12 inch or deeper snow falls and you have a smaller drive from 60 to 80 feet, this is a great model for you. The hydrostatic transmission allows you to move the snow blower slowly, so the deep snow can be removed. This model also has one of the highest intakes so it can cut through drifts that other machines can’t.

300-Series 2-Stage Husqvarna Tracked Snow Blowers

These big snow blowers are better than the Honda 28 and 32 inch tracked snow blowers. They don’t plug up when clearing wet snow but you need some practice to adjust the front end so it rides off the ground. It has three positions and free-floating mode.

The tracked snow blowers travel slower than a wheeled unit, so if you have a long driveway, a faster machine could be better. However, you should keep in mind they can go places where wheeled snow blowers can’t go.

One of the best features of these models with 3-point tracks is that they have more clearance under the machine than models with only 2-point tracks. This is great when clearing deep snow or clearing snow off turf and avoid damaging the turf. The 3-point tracks combined with the wide tracks and being able to lock the front off the ground allows you to clean a snow drift without getting stuck. Moreover, they can clear a snow drift that is 4 feet deep, something that a wheeled snow blower or a 2-point tracks unit can’t do.

The bad part is that they are expensive but they worth every cent you invest on them if you have a steep slope, soft ground, a walking path or really deep drifts to clear.

They’re also heavy but almost anyone can drive them. You can’t grab the handles and whip them around at the end- you have to pull the power steering lever and let it turn itself. The track drives rarely run out of traction and run in a perfect straight line until you tell them to turn

Now I will show you some reviews that state the power of steering sticks, however, you should note this isn’t true on the current ST 300 series machines. The older 1830 and 1827 EXLT models had the power steering.

Husqvarna ST 330PT Snow Blower Review
