Ego 56V Cordless Snow Blower Mid-Season Review

Ego has allowed us to test one of its 56V and 21-inch wireless electric snowblowers. Then we asked for another one for a second opinion. I have only used it on 3 occasions, but I feel like I have enough experience to make a review. What I can say is that this is a wonderful machine.

I may not be able to do what a gasoline snowblower can do, but I particularly don’t like tools that use gasoline if I can use a power tool. Is it totally wireless? Yes, and I think it’s an excellent alternative for small gasoline-powered snowblowers.

One thing I’ve realized is that Ego’s snowblower doesn’t clear the snow on the asphalt. It leaves a small, thin, compacted layer that then requires a shovel. This snowblower over comes out on the ground, but also decently cleans the streets.

It turns out to be controllable when handling down, but driving uphill? I’d rather drag it up let gravity do the work for me.

The last major snowfall was a challenge, as the thick, wet snow stuck the hopper several times, but that’s likely happened with any other snowblower.

I think this is a very good one-stage wireless snowblower. It is easy to install, easy to use and the battery gives enough. I have an extra Ego charger, so after spending quite a bit of time cleaning have both batteries charged.

The operating time is long, about 45 minutes using two 5.0Ah batteries. There is also a 7.5Ah option available. If you need more uptime you can buy more batteries or a second charger. Or, you can charge your batteries from another Ego charger of another product you’ve purchased.

In particular, I have no complaints. Only maybe I’d like to be able to vertically store the mower to store the machine taking up less space. I would also like it to clean better on the asphalt, but it seems like a street tilt problem.

I’m looking forward to the ego to launch a two-stage unit, I would buy it immediately, even if the usage time was shorter.

This snow blower has a clearance capacity of 21 inches wide, throws snow 35 feet away, has variable auger speed. In addition, the hopper can be adjusted as well as its angle. It features LED headlights, and an excellent 5-year warranty.
