5 Ninja Warrior Obstacles to Create

Warp Wall No. 1

A Ninja Warrior course’s most famous element is the bent wall. The warped wall is seen at the conclusion of most city finals courses in American Ninja Warrior. You may create a quarter pipe or a high warped wall against an existing wall for a backyard warped wall. To create a 14-16 foot warped wall against a home, follow these steps.


  • 7-8 4’x8′ Plywood Sheets
  • a 2’x4′ plank (amount needed will vary based on height and width of wall)
  • Jigsaw
  • 2 1/4″ Screws for wood in a Box
  • Screwdriver (electric)

*The width of the wall may be the whole 4 feet of plywood sheet. Alternatively, you might cut one piece of plywood in half lengthwise to get a 2 foot width.

Step 1: Soak 1-2 Plywood Sheets

First, decide whether you want your warped wall to be the full width of the plywood sheet or half-width. Before soaking, split the plywood in half lengthwise if you picked half-width.

Soak 1-2 pieces of plywood that will serve as the wall top in water. If you have a pool, this would be an excellent location to soak the wood while building the frame. To ensure that the weights or bricks are completely immersed in the water, place them on the board.

Create a Curve Outline in Step 2

Next, make a “L” shape on the grass with three pieces of dried plywood. These plywood sheets will be trimmed to fit the curvature of the wall. Place a thread around a screwdriver and connect a pencil to the other end to create a curve. Place the screwdriver where you want the curve’s center to be on the ground. A radius of around 10 feet is a good starting point, but you may go with anything else. Draw a curving line on the “L” shaped plywood using the pencil.

Rep with another set of three boards in the “L” on the other side of the wall. Make sure the boards’ curves are the same! Then, using a jigsaw, cut the boards following the curve.

Step 3: Assemble the framework

Now you will place the lumber supports on the plywood curves. Screw the 2 x 4, or similar study lumber, to the sides to the curve that will lay against the wall using your Screwdriver (electric). Attach these supports to the existing wall or house. Make sure to space them so the plywood top curve can fit on top, depending on if you are using a half-width or not. If you used full-width, space the boards about 3.5 feet apart.  For half-width about 1.5-2 feet apart.

Step 4: Rung Support

Then, using cut 2 x 4s the width of the ramp, build stepping supports up the curve. Secure to the curve’s sides at 8-10 inch intervals. More supports should be built at the bottom, and they may taper off towards the top, where there will be no foot traffic.

Step 5: Attach the Warped Wall to the top.

Finally, you may build the curving ramp on top of the supports using your wet plywood. Attach the ramp to the supports using screws. At make a grab, add PVC or foam to the top of the ramp board.

2. Salmon Ninja Warrior Ladder


Another typical ninja warrior obstacle that is also a great strength booster is the salmon ladder. This obstacle takes a standard pull-up and turns it upside down! This piece may be built on top of an existing structure or from scratch following the blueprints below.


  • Two 44 wood posts, 12′-15′
  • Two eight-foot-and-a-half-inch-and-a-half-inch-and-a-half-inch-and-a-half-
  • 1 pressure-treated 4′ 26″ board
  • 3″ nails in a box
  • 2 1/4″ heavy-duty Screws for wood in a box
  • Using a post digger or a shovel
  • 1 bag of cement (quick set)
  • Measurement tape
  • Drill with an electric motor
  • edge with a straight edge
  • Hammer
  • Approximately 4 foot broad metal bar

Step 1: Get the Frame Ready

First, construct the salmon ladder’s frame. Place the 4 × 4 posts on the ground parallel to each other, approximately 3.5 feet apart. The poles will be buried in the dirt around 2.5 feet deep. On each post, draw a line at the 2.5-foot mark. From this point, measure up about 4 feet. Make a line. This is where you’ll start putting your first rung.

Create the rungs in step two.

You’ll need to measure the width of your post plus around 4 inches to make the rungs of the salmon ladder. The rungs should reach 4 inches from the posts. Cut the 24 boards into about 6 rungs for each size. When mounting the rungs to the post, you may slant the board or cut one side of the rung at 35 degrees.

Step 3: Assemble the rungs

Mark the position of each rung before screwing it in. Make a mark every 6-12 inches until you reach the top of the posts, starting at the 4-foot line you made in step 1. Start with 6 inches between each run if you’re just getting started with the salmon ladder. Are you up for a test? The rungs of the American Ninja Salmon ladders are 12 inches apart, so you can arrange them anywhere you like. Attach the rungs to the posts at a 35-degree angle with four inches of the rung extending beyond the posts at each of the lines you indicated, using roughly four Screws for wood.

Step 4: Complete the frame

Cut and fix the 2 x 6 board to the top of the frame once you’ve connected the rungs. Check that both sides of the rungs are pointing up and even.

Dig Holes and Place Posts in Step 5

It’s time to start digging! So you can go back to finishing your job, we’ve examined the finest digging shovels and the best post hole digger. Dig two holes the same width as your ladder using the hole digger or shovel (3.5 feet). The holes should be drilled to a depth of 2.5 feet. Make a batch of quick-setting concrete.

Adjust the height of the frame by lifting it into the openings. Pour the concrete and use 45-degree angled planks to hold the beams. Allow the concrete to set for at least 24 hours.

Add the Metal Bar in Step 6

Now you may utilize your Salmon ladder! Place the metal bar at the bottom of the stairwell and work your way to the top!

3. Steps in a quintuple order

Quad or Quintuple steps are simple and rapid to construct. These instructions will build a five-step set, but you may construct up to eight steps out of one piece of plywood or keep the rest for another project!


  • 34′ thick 4’x8′ piece of plywood
  • There are five 2’x4’x8′ boards in all.
  • Bolts, ten 4″
  • a total of 20 washers
  • 10 nuts
  • Jigsaw
  • Screws for wood
  • Drill
  • Tape Measurement
  • Pencil

Plywood should be divided first.

Using a Tape Measurement and pencil mark out 2’x2’ sections on your sheet of plywood.  This will create about 8 sections.  We will be using five sections to make our obstacle.  Cut out at least 5 sections with your jigsaw.

Step 2: Prepare the Boards

For the supports, each step will need two lengths of 24 cut to two feet. For the kickstands, you’ll need two extra parts that are 2′ long. As a result, we’ll cut 20 portions, each measuring 2 feet long.

Attach the Frame to the Platform in Step 3

Use two 2’ sections for the left and right of the platform. Place the platform on top of the frame and make sure the boards are flush with the left and right sides.  Secure with about 5 Screws for wood.

Step 4: Set up a kickstand

The angle of American Ninja Warrior stairs may range from 45 to 60 degrees. Use a bolt instead of a screw to connect the kickstands if you want to be able to modify the angle of your steps. If you want the board to pivot, you’ll need to cut the kickstands’ ends. Drill a hole large enough to accommodate a bolt, washer, and nut. All of the kickstands should have a bolt, washer, and nut attached to them.

Step 5: Arrange the steps.

4. Buckets that Jump

This is the simplest instruction we’ve seen thus far! All you’ll need is a couple of old 5-gallon buckets and some wooden stakes! Place your wooden pegs in the ground where you want the buckets to be spread apart. Place the buckets on top of the wooden posts, upside down. Now attempt to balance and leap from one bucket to the next to reach the next barrier.

5. Climbing Wall with Pegs


A peg wall may be built vertically, horizontally, or in a traverse pattern. Choose the design that appeals to you the most or that best suits your needs. Peg walls, like the one seen below, may be purchased for a reasonable price. They are, however, even less expensive to construct.

The first step is to prepare the board. Holes must be marked

We propose sanding the 28 board to avoid splinters. Mark three lines, approximately 2″ apart, along the length of the board using a pencil and ruler. Along the three lines, make a mark every 6 inches. The drill holes should lie between the outer line holes if the center line markings are offset.

Drill the Holes in Step 2

This step will take a little bit of time.  Ensure that you hold the drill completely vertical while drilling your holes. Drill the holes where you made your 6” marks using the Spade Bit (1 1/4″).

Step 3: Secure the backing

A pegboard with a backing will prevent the pegs from sliding all the way through the board and pinching your hand. You don’t need a heavy-duty board; all you need is something to stop the peg. Use plywood scraps or whatever you have on hand.

Cut out the peg wall form that you traced on the plywood. Apply wood glue to one side of the plywood before attaching it to the peg wall’s back. Clamp the pieces of wood together or set them on the ground with a weight on top of them. Allow to dry fully.

Cut the Dowels in Step 4

You’re nearly finished with your peg wall! Cut the 1 14″ dowels to around 6″ long, depending to the length you choose. Cut two dowels, or more if you want to be extra!

Step 5: Assemble the Peg Wall

Hang the peg wall to an existing outdoor structure using 3” Screws for wood. If you do not have a structure in place, repeat the process used in the Salmon ladder to set two posts.  Attach the peg wall at the angle desired to two set posts.  Enjoy climbing the wall!
